Yaya Toure claims hat-trick of African awards

Manchester City and Ivory Coast midfielder Yaya Toure has been named the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Footballer of the Year.

It is a third straight title for Toure, who also won December's BBC African Footballer of the Year award.

He was up against fellow Ivorian Didier Drogba, of Galatasaray, and Nigeria and Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel.

Toure, 30, emulates Abedi Pele and Samuel Eto'o with a hat-trick of wins.

    2009 Didier Drogba
    2008 Emmanuel Adebayor
    2007 Frederic Kanoute
    2006 Didier Drogba

Ghanaian Abedi Pele won three in a row between 1991-93 while Cameroonian Eto'o took the award from 2003-05.

Toure may not have won a major trophy for club and country last year but his class has shone through at both domestic level and for the Elephants of Ivory Coast.

He was honoured at a ceremony in Lagos, Nigeria, on Thursday.

Toure's form also led to him being the only African to be included on the 23-man shortlist for Fifa's World Player of the Year.

His closest rival for the Caf award was Mikel, 26, who helped Nigeria win the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa and also featured in Chelsea's Europa League win.

Former Arsenal striker Nwankwo Kanu was the last Nigerian star to win the prestigious award in 1999.

Ex-Chelsea favourite Drogba, 35, was runner-up in 2012 but won the Caf award in 2006 and 2009.

Photo: General Overseer’s Wife Resurrects After Doctors Confirmed Her Dead

The wife of the General Overseer and Founder of Victory Life Bible Church (VLBC), Abeokuta, Ogun State, Rev. (Mrs) Folake Achudume, who doctors have confirmed dead has resurrected before she could be buried. The woman while narrating her story and testifying to the goodness of God in the presence of their congregation, said she was already confirmed dead by doctors and narrated how her spirit left her body and what she saw in another realm. Her husband also said, when doctors told him, his wife was dead as a result of the operation because she bled to death, said she didn’t die but went on a visit in faith. Below is part of what she said while giving her testimony.

“What I experienced was like being a drama piece. I saw myself coming out of my body, and going into a white cloud. I didn’t know where I was going, but I was asked to look down, only to see my husband, children been consoled, as my burial was been planned. I saw people crying.” “Later, I stretched my hand and I was taken to a glorious place, where I saw people in white garment welcoming me, telling me to come in. I joined them, but a big hand stretched out, with a voice saying the place is not for me,”

“I later found myself in another place, more glorious and beautiful, I was not allowed in again, but I was taken to a third place, where I was not allowed again. Then a voice came telling me to look down, and told me I should return to where I was coming from, but I was struggling to join the group. Then I heard a thunderous voice and it was at that point my eyes opened.”

“I stand to tell you that God has power over death. The consultants had confirmed that I bled to death after the operation. If you understand what I went through you will realize that life is vanity. By that experience everything in life to me has lost value. It was not a joke, I appreciate God, because God made me to understand the mystery of life,” she told the congregation.

Ex-Ekiti State Acting Governor And Speaker, Chief Friday Aderemi, Dead At 74

Former Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Chief Friday Aderemi, passed away today at the age of 74 years. Chief Aderemi, an indigene of Ayetoro-Ekiti, died at the state University Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti, on Tuesday after a brief illness.
The late Mr. Aderemi, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was a Senior Special Assistant to Governor Kayode Fayemi and played prominent roles during struggles to reclaim the Governor's mandate from Dr. Segun Oni.
In 2003, he was elected to represent Ido/Osi Constituency 2 at the Ekiti State House of Assembly.
In 2004, he became the Speaker of the state House of Assembly after the impeachment of his predecessor, Hon. Sola Ajigbolamu.
The deceased ruled the state for one day as acting governor after Ayodele Fayose was removed from office in October 2006.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Olayinka Oyebode, the incumbent Ekiti State Governor Dr. Kayode Fayemi expressed his regret over the death of Chief Aderemi.
The Governor said the history of Ekiti,  as a political entity, would not be complete without a generous mention of Aderemi's contributions as a teacher, legislator, Speaker of the House of Assembly, Acting Governor, and lately as chairman of the state's Education Trust Fund.
"Chief Aderemi saw politics as an opportunity to serve the people, and he did that to the best of his ability serving as a worthy representative of his constituency in the old Ondo State and Ekiti State," the statement read.
"He was a decent politician and diligent parliamentarian. No wonder he was elected Speaker in the Second Assembly in Ekiti State. And he brought maturity to bear in presiding over the affairs of the Assembly.
"Providence thrust the governance of the state on his shoulders when he emerged as Acting Governor on October 16, 2006 and acted in the interest of the people for the two days he spent in office.
"Despite his attainment of enviable political heights in life, he lived among his people in Ayetoro-Ekiti and was ever ready to contribute to the development of his community in particular and the state in general.
"May the gentle soul of this great Ekiti son and legend continue to find rest in the bosom of the Lord as we all mourn his demise.
"On behalf of the government and people of Ekiti State, I commiserate with his immediate family, friends, associates and other Nigerians whose lives have been touched by this patriot."

Politician Arrested For Calling President A Potato

Zambian police have arrested and charged an opposition leader with defamation, after he compared the president to a potato, a party ally told AFP Tuesday.
Frank Bwalya, head of the Alliance for a Better Zambia, allegedly referred to president Michael Sata as "Chumbu Mushololwa" during a live radio broadcast Monday.
The Bemba term literally refers to a sweet potato that breaks when it is bent and is used to describe someone who does not heed advice.
"The police decided to arrest and charge him with defamation of the president," Eric Chanda, the secretary general of Alliance told AFP.
If convicted, Bwalya faces a maximum jail term of five years.
Bwalya, a former Catholic priest and supporter of Sata when in opposition, is just the latest opposition leader to run afoul of Zambia's leader.
In September, Nevers Sekwila Mumba of the Movement for Multiparty Democracy was questioned by police after calling Sata a liar.
Ex-president Rupiah Banda has been hauled before the courts on numerous corruption charges.
"President Sata is the same old man who was on all radio stations defaming former presidents Banda and Mwanawasa and nobody arrested him," said Chanda.

Outrage Over P-Square Brother’s Gun Threat On Internet

It came as a rude shock to many followers of Jude Okoye, music video director and senior brother to music superstar, P-Square, when he posted his picture with three pistols and some bullets on the internet last night Monday, 6 January.

Jude, also known as Engees, seemingly trying to act like a gangster, unabashedly posted the offensive picture with a message on the microblogging site with a handle @judeengees: “F..k with me cos u know I got ‘em.”
The post which has attracted over 230 likes by this morning, also has many commentators chiding Jude, who ought to be a role model rather engaging in brazen display of such shameful act.
And we observed that hours after many pleaded with him to take down the offensive post, Jude remained adamant as he left the picture that keeps attracting comments both negative and otherwise.
“I suggest you take down this photo. You’re not sending the right message to youths out there. With you being a celeb. Real shame!” wrote one follower with handle @Kveeeeeee.
Another follower @alextobechi who in agreement with @Kveeeeeeee simply said: “I’m disappointed in you Jude.”
To @Sugarcherry2, the music stars’ brother is stealthily promoting gangsterism: “Hehehehe Tupac and Biggie…Pls Jude don’t start a war biko.”
A follower by name Mor Sene with handle @yuseemi was more worried and told the award-winning director: “Don’t start this s**t in Nigeria you F***tard…You might have it but don’t show it…Lord knows when pics like this would start becoming a trend in Nigeria…”
He continued: “That’s exactly where I guess the bad influence will start spreading to the masses to make this ‘bad influential pic like’ this in Nigeria trend.”
@Havenlyhot wrote: “A real man fights without a weapon and wins his battle like a warrior.”
And @Alashock was a bit acerbic: “Height of shamelessness if you think this is a show off…Stupid American wannabe…Even when the supposed advanced country (America) is currently campaigning for gun control. Insecurity of the highest order from Judeengees.”
For a follower, Nelson Ebuka with handle @boinero, he believes Jude’s access to excessive cash could be responsible to this misdemeanour: “Too much money dey disturb you…U need a cognitive therapy….Remember God fit take d fame and money in minute. Even American artists never try dis one,” he stated.
Temitayo Ogunseye described Jude’s action as “sheer stupidity at its peak”.
There are others who are calling for investigation into this act by Jude whether he has right to threaten anyone with guns on the social media whether he is legally or illegally in possession of the firearm.
Jude is gradually gaining not too good reputation with some of his posts on the social media. Recently, he alongside his twin brothers flaunted wads of foreign cash while aboard a private jet.

PHOTO: One Dead, One Critically Injured in Third Mainland Bridge Accident

One person was feared dead while another was critically injured, on January 7, 2014, Tuesday, during a lone accident involving a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) on the Third Mainland bridge in Lagos at about 10.25 a.m.
According to an eye witness, the vehicle belonging to Access Bank, was heading towards Iyana-Oworo from Lagos Island.
A tyre burst on high speed occurred. The SUV tumbled and landed on the median. Its driver died on the spot, while a female passenger was critically injured and taken to General Hospital, Gbagada.
An official of Federal Road Safety Commission was able to provide succour to the victim as she was later taken to the hospital in a private car.
A law enforcement agent, who spoke on conditions of anonymity, attributed this road accident to over-speeding on the part of the deceased:
“The road was very free, so the deceased took advantage of the situation and drove on a high speed and could not control the vehicle. Before anyone knew what was happening, he tumbled and landed on the median and died on the spot. Also, his passenger was critically injured and taken to hospital.”

US College Says It Did Not Award MBA To Stella Oduah

Stella Oduah, Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation who is embroiled in a scandal of towering proportions in the ministry, faces new integrity questions as her Masters’ degree has been challenged by the United States school which supposedly awarded it.
Her resume, which she presented to the Senate as a ministerial nominee in 2011, indicated she obtained a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) from St. Paul’s College Lawrenceville, Virginia, United States. But SaharaReporters has learned from the President of the college that it has never in its 125-year history had a graduate school or graduate program.
Similarly, the school’s website states: “Saint Paul's College is accredited by the Commission of Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award baccalaureate [bachelor’s] degrees.”  There is no mention of graduate degrees.

Nigeria beat Ethiopia again

Nigeria beat Ethiopia 2-1 in an international friendly played at the Abuja National Stadium on Saturday evening.
The game was the first real test for the Nigerian national team who are set to make a maiden appearance at the African Nations Championship which kicks-off on January 11 in South Africa.
Enyimba striker Ifeanyi Ede gave Nigeria the advantage after scoring in the 3rd minute to put Nigeria in front.
Ede later missed a chance to extend Nigeria's lead, when he failed to connect with a pass from Rabiu Ali in the 27th minute.
The home based Super Eagles continued to dominate their opponents and their persistence paid off when Enugu Rangers holding midfielder Ugonna Uzochukwu struck to double Nigeria's lead.
Nigeria took their two-goal lead into the break, and continued to dominate the game upon resumption of the second half.
But the Eagles could not translate their control of the game into goals, and were made to pay when the Ethiopians pulled a goal back against the run of play, after Chigozie Agbim parried the ball into his own net.
Agbim's own-goal led a section of the over 2000 fans present at the Stadium to call for the introduction of Golden Eaglets goalie Dele Alampasu.
Despite losing their two-goal cushion, Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi made some attacking changes to the team as Gbolahan Salami came on for Abubakar Aliyu, and Christian Pyagbara came on in place of Rabiu Ali.
Neither team was however able to add to their tally when Guinean referee Yakhouba Keita signaled for the end of the game.
Nigeria have now defeated Ethiopia in their last four meetings. The Super Eagles beat Ethiopia in the group stage of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, then went on to beat them over both legs of their World Cup qualifying play-off last year.
Nigeria are expected to depart for South Africa on Tuesday next week.

Penis slicer and husband reconcile

About a week ago you guys read about the banker who sliced her husband's penis with a knife during a fight at their home in Surulere. (Pictured together above). Not only that, Lekan Daniju has recovered and is out of the hospital. The gospel singer is currently in the studio recording a new single titled, Still Standing.

Vincent Enyeama: Europe's Best Goalkeeper

Super Eagles Vice captain and Lille of France safe hands, Vincent Enyeama, has been picked as the best goalkeeper in the major leagues across Europe in the 2013/14 football season.

Research by supersport.com showed that the ratio of saves made to goals conceded by the Nigerian is by far and away the most impressive, compared to any goalkeeper at any football club in any of Europe’s top leagues this season.

The 31-year-old conceded eight goals in 19 league appearances for Lille OSC this season and was voted best player in Ligue 1 on two consecutive occasions ahead of stellar individuals like Thiago Silva, Edinson Cavani, Mathieu Valbuena, Radamel Falcao and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Enyeama’s saves made to goals conceded ratio stands at seven, well ahead those of established goalkeepers like Victor Valdés (FC Barcelona), Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich), Gianluigi Buffon (Juventus) and Morgan de Sanctis (AS Roma).

Valdés’ saves made to goals conceded ratio in the 13 league games he played for FC Barcelona this season stands at 4.4 while Neuer’s in his 16 Bundesliga games this season was pegged at 3.9. Italy, the land famous for tight defences, catenaccio and legendary goalkeepers produced the fourth and fifth best stoppers using statistics in the first half of the 2013/13 season as the yardstick.

Veteran Juventus man, Buffon’s figures as far as the ratio of goals conceded to saves made stood at 2.3 while De Sanctis who has been in supreme form for AS Roma managed 2.2.

Buffon has made 16 league appearances for La Vecchia Signora this season while De Sanctis has made 17 Serie A appearances for the Giallorossi this term.

Enyeama’s recent accomplishments have attracted words of adulation from Nigeria’s goalkeeper trainer, Ike Shorunmu who believes the former Enyimba star has had a barnstorming season. “I work with (Enyeama) whenever he’s back on international duty so this news brings a smile to my face.

He is making us proud and more importantly the fact that these things are happening during the season leading to the World Cup is fantastic,” Shorunmu said yesterday. Enyeama made his debut for Nigeria in 2002 and has been capped 88 times by the Super Eagles.

Born-again Christians return certificate to WAEC

At least 15 people have recently returned certificates issued to them by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC). They explained this action by the fact they were cheating during the examination, and now as Born Again Christians, they could not live with “the sin.”
According to Saturday Sun, some of the people had approached WAEC through letters seeking restitution, after they had confessed how they dubiously acquired their certificates, when they wrote the examinations at various periods.
WAEC replied, stating that what they were expected to do was to return the certificates awarded in line with the rules and regulations guiding the conduct of the examinations. However, only few responded, including a holder of Teachers’ Grade 11 certificate.
It has been revealed that those who complied with the directive returned their certificates to various WAEC offices nationwide.
The council took their case to the Nigeria Examinations Committee (NEC), which has cancelled the returned 15 certificates at its 55th meeting in Lagos.
“The listed candidates, in their letters of restitution, confessed that they were involved in various forms of examination malpractices in various years as indicated against their numbers. They have returned the original certificates issued to them,” a statement by NEC said.
The returned certificates by the Born Again Christians were for both the May/June (school exam) and November/December (private candidate) West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
A breakdown of the year the examinations were taken revealed that the oldest dates back to June 1983 with certificate # SG 288999. The next is dated June 1990 (RS0680084c), June 1992 (NGSS 0994156), June 1995 (NGSS0265147) and December 1995 (NGSP 0169397), December 1996 (NGSP 0575264), December 2000 (NGWASSCP 038771), June 2001 (NGWASSCS 2451037).
Others are June 2002, two certificates with NGWASSCP 4100224 and NGWASSCS 3894794 were returned and cancelled, June 2003 (NGWASSCS 5009313), June 2006 two born again Christian returned certificates with NGWASSCP 7747466 and NGWASSCS 8423755, December 2008 (NGWASSCP 05790031) and June 2010 NGWASSCP 13327157.
There are several Verses in the Bible to support restitution, which conform to what the 15 Born Again Christians did by confessing their sins and sought restitution from WAEC.
In 1 John 1:9 says: “If we confess our sins, this is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”.
While Numbers 5:6-7 says: “When a man or woman commits any of the sins that people commit by breaking faith with the Lord, and that person realizes his guilt, he shall confess his sin that he has committed. And he shall make full restitution for his wrong”.
The names and other details of the 15 confessed persons may not be disclosed, as WAEC officials said it would amount to violation of the rights of the individuals involved and that of commission’s ethics.

Mercy Johnson Talks About Her Poor Background

Nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson Okojie in an interview opens up about life before the fame, money and marriage.

She talks about how she once lived in an uncompleted building and how she was inspired to start acting after watching one of Genevieve Nnaji's movies.
Excerpt below
Sometimes when I cry in movies, it isn't the script that makes me cry. When I recall my humble beginning, I give thanks to God. When I remember how we moved into an uncompleted building and had to take cover whenever it rained because of the condition of the house; how my brother did a menial job as a bricklayer to earn a living and those days when we rolled over a stick to cover the windows up till the point when I started acting and raised money to cover the roof.
I recall those days we were living with lizards because the floor and the walls of the house were not plastered, or when I had scars as a result of my several falls.”

How she got into acting
“After my secondary school education, I failed the University Matriculation Examination (UME) and came back to Lagos to get a degree. While that was on, I watched Genevieve Nnaji in a movie entitled: Sharon Stone. I later approached a friend for assistance to feature in a movie. He said I had a great body and that I would make a good actress. He later took me to the National Theater, but a role did not come until a year later, when I had my first lead role in a film entitled: The Maid.

The Maid was my starting point and it was quite challenging to play the lead role because it was my first movie. I was fidgeting when I saw the likes of Eucharia Anunobi, whom I regarded as a screen goddess during my secondary school days. I never thought I would make it with people like that. So, when I saw her, I was so excited and considered standing beside her as sacred. She actually realized that and later helped me by giving me the needed courage."

What has marriage changed about you?
Marriage has taught me lots of things and I’ve learn a lot since I got married too. I know that if I had gotten married earlier, I wouldn’t have made most of the errors I made. It’s good to be married to somebody who is so organized; he brings you up the right way and reminds you of whom you’re supposed to be.

You seem to be enjoying marriage a lot.  You even once said that as soon as Purity (her daughter) clocks one, you would be going back to the labor room
My sister, marriage has been sweet for me because I have the best husband and daughter in the world. Being a married woman, I have learn to tolerate things more. It has changed my perspective of life and the way I react to things.

But getting married and being an actress are two different things. How do you balance up?

When I’m not at location, I spend quality time with my family. And guess what? My husband has always been there for me and Purity. It’s obvious we are his priority. He’s a loving husband and father.

Your husband does not complain about those times when you are away?
He doesn’t; he understands the nature of my job. He’s the best thing that has happened to me. People usually say men are not reliable. In the case of my husband, he’s a blessing.

What was the point of attraction between you and Mr Okojie?

What attracted him to me was his fearless approach. You know sometimes, you meet some guys and they get intimidated about you, but not with him. The first time we were supposed to have a date, he said ‘Let’s go to my house so you can cook for me’ and in my mind, I was like “Seriously, this guy doesn’t know my name.” So, I said “My name is Mercy Johnson” and he said ‘Yes I know.

According to the Police statement, Sgt. Urang Obediah died on the spot where Lloyd allegedly rammed his bullet proof car into late Mr. Kingsley Ejeuo Passat car.
Police said Lloyd sneaked through the hospital’s back door while being guarded by four policemen on his hospital bed and escaped only to be arrested on his way to the Airforce base in the convoy of three tinted bullet proof jeeps in his bid to flee from the long arms of the law.
Lloyd, who is facing a six-count charge of conspiracy and attempted murder before a Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, was granted bail in August last year. Justice Latan Nyordee granted Lloyd the bail in the sum of N10million and three sureties in like sum.
Llyod was charged with the attempted murder of Mr.Micheal Chindah following the attempt by Chinda and four other lawmakers to impeach Otelemaba Dan Amachree, the Speaker of Rivers Assembly on July 9. Amachree has a commanding support of 27 lawmakers in the assembly.
There was no response from Llyod’s lawyers on this latest case.

Manchester City Close in on Chidi Nwakali

Nwakali, who was a key figure in the Nigeria squad which won the Under-17 World Cup in November, flew to Manchester from Lagos with his parents to hold talks with City chiefs on January 2.

If a deal is completed, Nwakali will earn £300,000 a year in wages, fees and add-ons from the day he turns 18 on December 26.

Nwakali is also adept at playing in defense and currently represents Shuttle Sports Academy in Lagos.

The move follows a failed attempt to sign 17-year-old striker Kelechi Iheanacho, who has verbally agreed a deal with Porto amid heavy interest from City.

Iheanacho played alongside Nwakali in Nigeria’s Under-17 World Cup triumph and ended as the tournament’s top scorer with six goals.

Pastor Disappears After Car Accident

Anxiety is mounting over the sudden disappearance of the General Overseer of Christ Worshipers Church with headquarters at Osubi, Effurun, Warri, Delta State Prophet Duromola Adedayo Samuel.
One source said Prophet Duromola might have met his death in a ghastly auto crash that occurred, yesterday, between 6.00 p.m and 8.00 p.m. along Akure-Ilesa expressway.
But another source said he might also have been a victim of kidnap.

A source in Ikeji Arakeji area where the crash occurred disclosed that after the crash and the vehicle veered into the bush, they tried to give a helping hand but did not meet anybody inside the vehicle with the number plate already removed.
Osun State police command spokesperson, Mrs Folasade Odoro, said there was no official report to that effect while family members from Owo, Ondo State claimed that they had gone to various hospitals in Owena, Ikeji-Arakeji, Ipetu-Ijesa, Ilesa as his whereabout was still unknown at press time.
According to the family members on search party, the vehicle was found but the prophet was not found, adding that no blood stains or anything curious was noticed at the scene of the accident.
Elder Boro, a member of the Board of Trustees of the church in a telephone interview said Prophet Samuel phone rang throughout the night without response.
He added that may be he was praying on the mountain in Ilesa.
This was corroborated by Pastor Paul Opoweh, the Prophet’s personal assistant, who said efforts to reach him on phone proved abortive.

When the wife, Prophetess Eseoghene Blessing Duromola was contacted, she said Prophet Sanuel went to a mountain at Ilesa, with a promise to return to Akure to pick her and the children to Warri for the end of the year vigil but that did not happen.

Benjamin Joseph's funny New Year message

"Happy New Year folks, glad we all had a seamless crossover into the new year. It is new year, things take a turn for the better. Change is constant. We should all desire to grow and achieve as much as God desires for us. Please permit me to share this general announcement:
Please don't ask me to do things pro bono for you, or your organization/magazine/newspaper/etc, unless you fancy being let down, personally.
I have serious bills to pay, just like the rest of y'all, so if you want to hire my services, we can talk, but otherwise, don't even think about approaching me - the time for me to pump up my resume with the fleeting thrill of being a good samaritan is over unless you pay for it. I repeat over!
And nope- no friendship calls as far as business is concerned. Thanks, I have to draw the margin somewhere, and since this last yearly quarter seems to be the one where I've been asked the most for free expertise, let me reiterate once and for all: nothing in the world is free, my expertise being the least amongst them."

My Fiance’s Older Cousin I Dated Before Him, Still Wants Sex From Me

I am about to marry my ex-boyfriend’s cousin. I dated his older cousin, a married man two years ago and met my fiance through him. My ex wanted me to marry him because he is comfortable and can take care of me and my unborn children. I have fallen in love with him but I am scared he might get to know in the future. We have been having unprotected sex since early last month and I think I am pregnant. Our wedding is in few weeks and I get more scared every day. The worse part of it is that his older cousin has been asking me for sex and whenever I turn him down he threatens to tell my fiance. What can I do. I don’t want to see his older cousin again. Please help.

I Had Sex Several Times With My Brother & Uncle!

A lot of us have slept with our brother/sister while growing up. For me, I was disvirgined at the age of 5 by my uncle.
After that, I started sleeping with my brother cause of the urge and when my uncle left for secondary school, I slept with my brother till I was in SS1(when I realised that what I was doing is wrong).
Though then, my brother would still make moves trying to seduce me – for example he walks around the house with his manhood erect or saying words like “if you want us to do it am ready”. He is now a se’x addict and carries ashawo and gals around.
I know it’s all my fault and don’t know how to help him. I also spoke to him that I know
what I did is wrong but I have asked the Lord to forgive me and help my brother too.
This happens in homes mostly where the parents are not always around. I want to have kids too and I don’t want the same thing happening to them. Please help me prevent and control this.
I know I am not the only child this is happening to, it was common in the 1980′s and 1990′s cos some parents use maids and relatives to take care of their kids and the “helpers” use the kids as sex experiment.
Please don’t insult me or anyone because a lot of us may claim it didn’t happen to them since we are online.
But how can we prevent this generation from suffering the same thing?

Asari Dokunbo: Why I Met With Major Hamza Al-Mustapha

You cannot divorce politics from whatever man is doing. Even between man and woman, politics is involved. The meeting with Al-Mustapha is to bring peace. Faseun, Uwazuruike, Yerima Shettima, Abacha, Tony Major and over 50 different organizations were there. Government wants to be oblivious of what is going on. It is a tsunami. It is the first time that people from the Caliphate, Borno and people from other part of this country are meeting. People have come to say ‘look, whatever has happened before we should put it aside, have a focus and put an eye on the future.’ All of us have suffered from one form of deprivation or the other. All of us have been in prison – myself, Pa Faseun, Uwazuruike, Al-Mustapha, Mohammed. We have been imprisoned at one time or the other. We have all suffered one form of deprivation or the other. Our collective suffering should be a sacrifice to bring hope to our people.
We met and we saw the sincerity in them. Some people say I hate the north, but I laugh. They say I hate the Fulanis, Kanuris and I find that funny. I have two boys and their mother is a Fulani, living among Kanuri people from Borno state. One of them is named after me – Mujahid Dokubo and the other one is Nurul-Islam. They have been living with their mother. My son even speaks Hausa and Fulfude. He doesn’t even know how to speak my language. I am married to a Shuwa Arab also from Borno Empire. My in-laws come to my house, eat, sleep, live in my house and we do things together. When it comes to protecting the interest of my people, it is beyond me because of my personal life. So if people want to kill my people, I should fold my hands because I’m married to a Fulani woman? When everyone dies it will remain only my two sons and myself. God created me an Ijaw man for a purpose’

Odia Ofeimun: Awolowo was greater than Mandela

In an interview with Sahara TV, the writer, poet & social critique said late premier of the old Western region, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, was a greater man than South African anti-apartheid revolutionary, Dr. Nelson Mandela.
I am too much of an Awolowo man not to see that the process of moving into independence in South Africa and in Nigeria followed exactly the same pattern. It was based on a negotiated settlement. The liberation struggle did not create the end of apartheid. It was a negotiation and Nigerians negotiated exactly the way Mandela negotiated.
“You can hype it if you like, but the pattern was exactly the same. You move from one meeting to the other, discussing politics and economics, and they successfully convinced Mandela to buy the pig in a poke of an economy and they also successfully succeeded in convincing Nigerians to buy the pig in a poke of an economy.
“The only man in Nigeria, who stood up against it, was (Obafemi) Awolowo. He was quickly jailed and all his men scattered across the prisons in Nigeria. Some driven abroad and the educational system that he had put in place was smashed.” Ofeimun said
"People talk about Mandela’s capacity to put various classes (of people) together as theory, but Awolowo ironed it out very clearly, why you don’t need a class struggle, in order to create a society in which all children can go to school; in which everybody can get a job, and in which old age pensions will be paid to people.
“It is not just love and I want to emphasise that. Those who criticise Awolowo’s socialism for wanting in love are obviously basing their argument on his claim that a government should be like a sun that shines on all equally. If it is about a theory of how to bring the people together on the African continent, none is as good as the Awolowo’s and I’m not trying to pretend.
“Bring all their writings, fine phrases, alright, but reduce them to economic terms, and I can tell you that there is only one man who rivals Awolowo in this respect and that is Nkrumah. Unfortunately unlike Awolowo, Nkrumah did not believe in either a democratic or a federal theory. If you want to save Africa, you need those two.”
Ofeimun said he chose Awolowo over Mandela because..
"The simple reason is that what needed to be done in South Africa, after apartheid was precisely what Awolowo wanted for Western Region and Nigeria after independence. Which is to say put every child at school, ensure that productivity takes the creativity of the individual citizen into proper focus and build the relationship between people and not on whether they did not love each other? But whether there is justice and equality.”

Ibadan kids spend new year at the escalator at Shoprite Ibadan

The pic was taken yesterday at Heritage Mall in Ibadan. The kids came to the mall with their guardians to spend the New Year but ended up spending most part of their visit at the mall's escalator. The kids were initially so scared of the elevator, but when they finally got to use it, they loved it and took turns going up and down the elevator...from dawn till dusk.

Graduate Hangs Himself Because of His Fiancee’s Parents Refusal To Let Him Marry Their Daughter

Adekunle Adebambo, a graduate of Architecture from the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) yesterday January 1, committed suicide by hanging himself in an uncompleted storey building.

According to PMNews, Adebambo's body was found around 1 a.m. yesterday dangling from a rope tied to the hook of a fan in an uncompleted storey building at 1, Alice Ogunsona Street, Hilltop Estate, Eruwen, Ikorodu.

 room.
He allegedly blamed his action on his girlfriend’s father who refused to allow him marry his daughter.
A friend of the deceased disclosed that Bambo, as he was fondly called, killed himself because his fiancee’s father, who is from Ondo State, said his daughter cannot marry him because he is an Ijebu man from Ogun State.

Many of the sympathisers who gathered at his residence found the excuse for his action difficult to believe.
Efforts to speak with his fiancee proved abortive as she refused to talk.

P.M.NEWS investigations revealed that Adebambo, 30, studied Architecture at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) and did his national service in Abia State.

A resident of the Hilltop Estate, Ibrahim Adeola, who said he participated in bringing down Adebambo’s body from the ceiling, recalled that he was dead and stiff when they brought him down.
The deceased was found by his younger brother after reading the suicide note he left in their sitting
“When the family raised an alarm and we came here, he was already foaming in his mouth and his hand was clenched in a fist. This signified that he struggled till he died,” he said.
